Arlington Community Foundation is pleased to welcome three new trustees to the Board for fiscal year 2025: Ashleigh Simpson, Chris Musto, and Dan McCabe. These new board members bring highly distinguished and diverse perspectives in business, finance, and community impact to the work of the Community Foundation at an exciting time in its evolution.
Ashleigh Simpson has over 27 years of experience in acquisitions, asset management, joint ventures, and fundraising across multiple asset types. Currently overseeing $1.1 billion in development value across active projects, Ashleigh has directly sourced and closed more than $8.3 billion in property acquisitions, development and core joint ventures, and fundraising. Ashleigh joined Grosvenor in 2022 and leads the Structured Development Finance (SDF) Programme in North America. A graduate of Georgetown University and the University of Maryland, he also founded the Godfrey and Glynis Simpson Scholarship Fund focused on college bound students residing in Arlington County, Virginia. Prior to entering the real estate industry, he served as a Marine Corporal for the US Marine Corps during a four-year active-duty assignment.
Chris Musto is a Senior Manager with Deloitte’s Government & Public Services (GPS) practice with 15+ years of consulting experience across Commercial and Federal Government clients including Defense, Civilian, Health and State & Local clients. He is an expert in enterprise and operational risk management, as well as experienced in leading large scale financial transformation efforts. Chris is a 3rd generation Arlingtonian, Arlington Public Schools alum, and son of two APS educators. In addition, Chris and his family founded the Michael A. Musto Memorial Scholarship Fund. Chris received his Bachelor of Science, Supply Chain & Information Systems, Environmental & Renewable Resource Economics from Penn State University.
Dan McCabe is the senior manager of community affairs for Nestle USA. He is an “Intrapreneurial” leader crafting programs and partnerships to deliver transformative community impact. Experience leading social impact for nonprofits, startups, celebrities, and corporations with a particular focus on connecting multiple stakeholders and linking grassroots with “grasstops” to advance triple bottom line outcomes. Dan previously served as the Vice President of Innovation and Strategic Partnerships at the Center for Workforce Inclusion where he helped design, develop and fund workforce solutions that connected forward-thinking employers with older workers, veterans, formerly-incarcerated, and other diverse, talented job seekers with skills that pedigree-oriented companies may have overlooked. He was also the senior director of institutional partnership for the Capital Area Food Bank. There he developed corporate, government, and foundation relationships to help nationally-recognized hunger relief organization provide over 32 million meals annually. He received his MBA from Wake Forest University.
These new Trustees join a distinguished list of current and former Trustees from ACF’s three-decade history, many of whom recently gathered for the annual reception. Hosted at Signature Theater, this special event gave current and former Trustees a chance to enjoy each other’s company and to learn about ACF’s current priorities and its impact in the community [Read: ACF’s FY2024 Impact Report].
Together, current and new Trustees alike are poised to elevate the Foundation’s initiatives and services to new heights, fostering an even stronger and more vibrant Arlington for all.
