2021 Spirit of Community: Celebrating extraordinary ArlingtoniansThe annual Spirit of Community awards celebration is a unique event that attracts hundreds of attendees from all sectors of the Arlington community.
On Thursday, November 18 at 12 PM (ET), the 28th annual Spirit of Community will bring together business, civic, and philanthropic leaders, as well as Arlingtonians from all walks of life, for a virtual celebration of individuals who have made Arlington a better home for all of us.
As Arlington Community Foundation marks three decades of service this fall, this year’s Spirit of Community will honor three extraordinary people who embody Arlington’s Spirit of Community, Advocacy, and Volunteerism:
Lucy Bowen McCauley, Founder and Artistic Director, Bowen McCauley Dance Company (BMDC) – 2021 William T. Newman, Jr. Spirit of Community Award Recipient
Florence Ross, Membership Assistant, Mount Zion Baptist Church – 2021 Spirit of Advocacy Award Recipient
Kay Nassetta, long-term volunteer at Virginia Hospital Center (VHC) and Arlington Free Clinic – 2021 Spirit of Volunteerism Award Recipient
In addition to the awards celebration, the virtual program will feature thought leaders who will discuss the critical needs and community issues facing our region.
