It meant an open door and new opportunities. I felt supported by my community.

Arlington Community Foundation has a well-establish Annual Scholarship Program that awards more than $600,000 in college scholarships to Arlington students each year. Generous individuals, families, companies, and organizations fund the scholarships.

Individuals and organizations can contribute in two ways – either by donating to the Community Scholarship Fund or by establishing their own scholarships.

Click the first button below to complete a form expressing interest in establishing a scholarship fund, and click the second button to send us an e-mail if you have any questions about scholarships.

Note: All new scholarships must be renewable and a minimum of $1,500 per year.

Families and businesses may choose to establish a named scholarship that honors a loved one or high-profile employee or community member. Donors have a few options for establishing a named scholarship:

An Endowed Scholarship requires a minimum contribution of $125,000 and has a 1.50% annual fee. Donors may reach the minimum over a maximum of five years with an initial gift of at least $25,000 or through a documented legacy plan. With this option, the donor establishes the criteria for the scholarship and the Foundation’s Scholarship Committee manages the selection process.

An Endowed Scholarship with an outside committee or separate selection process requires a minimum contribution of $250,000 and has a 1.50% annual fee. Donors may reach the minimum over a maximum of five years with an initial gift of at least $50,000 or through a documented legacy plan. With this option, the donor requires a selection process that is not a part of the Foundation’s standard scholarship cycle.

A named scholarship with an annual payment into the fund requires a minimum of $6,000 (plus a $500 annual fee) to the fund each year. The $6,000 covers a $1,500 renewable scholarship for 4 years. With this option, the donor establishes the criteria for the scholarship and the Foundation’s Scholarship Committee manages the selection process.

A named account under the Community Scholarship Fund requires a minimum contribution of $5,000 and does not have an annual fee. Contributions accrue to the Community Scholarship Fund under our standard spending policy. Donors may receive recognition through naming and storytelling, though no specific award criteria apply.
