Drew Murray, John Seal, Jennifer Sosin, and Michelle Winters join Board of TrusteesDeb Gandy named board chair as three trustees complete their service.
Arlington Community Foundation (ACF) is pleased to welcome Andrew “Drew” Murray, John Seal, Jennifer Sosin, and Michelle Winters to its Board of Trustees. The four new trustees bring extensive experience in law, public administration, communications, housing policy, nonprofit leadership, and civic service to the ACF board.
Andrew “Drew” Murray is an attorney with Manning Murray Barnett & Knerr, where he focuses on trusts and estates. He is a member of the Trusts and Estates section of the Arlington Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar. An Arlington native, Drew previously served on the Arlington Sports Commission and lives in Arlington with his wife, Jess, and their twin daughters.
His board service builds on a longstanding connection to ACF through his estate planning practice, his support for clients considering legacy planning, and his involvement in the Foundation’s work with Professional Advisors.
John Seal spent 31 years in federal service, including 26 years as a career senior executive in management and human capital leadership roles. He later served as finance and human resources director for the Rosslyn Business Improvement District and Rosslyn Renaissance. His civic leadership includes chairing the Arlington Commission for the Arts and serving as president of the Arlington Symphony and several other community organizations.
At ACF, John has brought that same spirit of stewardship and community service to committee work, the LGBTQ+ Community Group, and his efforts supporting a permanent fund for the arts in Arlington.
Jennifer Sosin spent more than 20 years as an executive at Weber Shandwick, where she chaired the firm’s Global Strategy & Insights team and led an international network of strategists and researchers. Her career has included work in healthcare communications, public opinion research, and political campaigns. An Arlington resident since 1989, she has served on the Arlington Free Clinic board and supported several County initiatives.
Jennifer has also shared her communications and marketing expertise through ACF’s Development Committee, including support for the annual Spirit Awards Luncheon.
Michelle Winters is CEO of the Virginia Statewide Community Land Trust and president of Winters Community Strategies. She previously led the Alliance for Housing Solutions and served as acting director of Loudoun County’s Department of Housing and Community Development. Her career also includes leadership positions at NeighborWorks America, LISC, and Fannie Mae, as well as serving as a visiting fellow at the Urban Land Institute’s Terwilliger Center. She has served as chair of the Arlington Housing Commission and on several regional housing boards.
Michelle’s connection to ACF grew through the Shared Prosperity Initiative, where her housing finance and economic modeling expertise has helped inform affordable housing pilots and educational work on The Benefits Cliff in Arlington.
The Board of Trustees begins its new year with Deb Gandy as chair, Carmen Oviedo as vice chair, Chris Musto as secretary, and Dana Laidhold continuing as treasurer.
The Foundation also extends its sincere appreciation to Tanja Castro, Jade Gong, and Ashleigh Simpson, who are completing their board service. Their leadership, insight, and commitment have helped strengthen the Foundation and its work throughout Arlington.
