Mission Statement
Develops and inspires youth through accessible coaching and mentorship programming. We are committed to fostering resilience, promoting physical activity, and instilling essential life skills in kids from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. By breaking down barriers and leveraging the joy of soccer, we include the excluded.
Program Summary
Our organization runs two key programs: competitive soccer and youth development community events. Our soccer program runs twice a week, focusing on mental and physical health, as well as fitness. Our goals for the soccer program include promoting teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among participants while also providing them with opportunities to compete at high levels in tournaments throughout the year. We prioritize accessibility, allowing children from diverse backgrounds to participate, thereby fostering inclusivity and diversity within the sport.
In addition to our soccer program, we host community events six times annually, partnering with local nonprofits and the community to provide comprehensive life skills training. Our goals for these events include promoting mentorship and leadership skills among participants, raising awareness about substance use and its impacts, and fostering a sense of community and belonging. Through these events, we aim to empower youth to make positive choices and become active, engaged members of their communities.
Impact Statement
The 703 Warriors are deeply committed to serving the youth in our community, particularly those who may face socio-economic barriers. Through our partnership with Affordable Homes & Communities (AHC), we ensure that our programming reaches those who need it most. By targeting children who qualify for subsidized and/or free school lunch programs, we identify and prioritize individuals who may benefit most from our support. Our goal is to provide these young participants with access to comprehensive life skills training and mentorship activities, empowering them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. Together with AHC, we strive to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported. Through our collective efforts, we aim to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of youth in our community, helping them build a brighter future for themselves and those around them.
What ways can the public get involved?
We invite members of the public to join us in our mission to empower and uplift youth in our community. There are several ways to get involved with the 703 Warriors. You can volunteer at our community events, where your assistance with check-in procedures will ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for participants. Additionally, we welcome volunteers to run educational activities for the kids during these events, providing valuable learning opportunities in areas such as health, fitness, and teamwork. For those passionate about soccer, we offer opportunities to volunteer as coaches, guiding and mentoring young athletes both on and off the field. Finally, donations are crucial to support our programming and community events, ensuring that they remain free and accessible to all participants. Your contributions enable us to continue making a positive impact on the lives of youth in our community.
How are charitable dollars spent? Where does my donation go?
We hold a special designation as a 509(a)(2) organization. This signifies that every dollar donated goes directly towards supporting our youth development programs and community initiatives. We do not have paid employees or contractors, which allows all money to be spent in supporting youth development programming. As we sustainably scale, we expect to put donations towards some overhead costs such as field reservations, equipment, and capstone event registrations.
