Campaign for Arlington
As the Foundation celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2011, we realize how important it is to communicate the impact that the Foundation has had in the community and how important it is to grow our asset base in order to respond to a broader set of needs.
- For this reason the Foundation has launched The Campaign for Arlington, an opportunity to transform Arlington County through the power of philanthropy.
- The Campaign for Arlington has a $15 million goal: $13 million in philanthropic assets/endowment and $2 million in annual operation support. This ambitious but exciting campaign will bring ACF dramatic new capacities by building our charitable assets to the $20 million level, nearly tripling its impact.
- The Campaign for Arlington has several objectives:
o To Strengthen the Foundation's ability to be a true philanthropic
leader in Arlington, enhancing opportunities to convene
community leaders to address unmet needs, to serve as a catalyst
for positive change, and to lead important initiatives, like our
Youth Philanthropy program.
o To Broaden the number and size of grants and scholarships we
make each year to organizations and individuals.
o To Provide ongoing operating resources for the Foundation, and
o To Reinforce our ability to effectively withstand economic
downturns and create a philanthropic endowment that will
ensure that the Community Foundation will be here for
Arlington in perpetuity.
