The Arlington Community Foundation awards scholarships to college-bound Arlington high school students annually. Forty different funds support the Scholarship Program, with individual scholarships ranging in size from $500 to $5,000. The Community Scholarship Fund awards continuing scholarship renewals of up to $1,000 to those previous recipients successfully continuing their studies.
ACF Scholarship Facts
- The ACF has awarded more than $1.2 million in scholarships over the past ten years.
- For 2007, there were 64 new scholarships and 77 renewed scholarships being awarded
with a total of over $250,000 being awarded.
- Scholarships range from $500 - $5,000, with many being renewable for 4 years. Seven scholarships have a renewable value of at least $20,000.
- One simple online application form makes a student eligible for all applicable scholarships in the ACF Scholarship Program.
- The online application for 2008-2009 is available online only and all materials (two letters of recommendation, SAT scores, FAFSA Student Aid Report) are due March 7, 2008. Students will be notified by May 1, 2008 of their selection status.
- Financial need-based scholarships require completion of the FAFSA form. Financial information is kept strictly confidential.
