Our Community Funds Match your charitable interests with an existing fund in the Arlington Community Foundation and help support community activities, meet neighborhood needs, and make Arlington County a better place to live. Created with "seed money" donated by visionary citizens like yourself, these community funds -- to which anyone may contribute any amount at any time -- are part of the Foundation's grant making program that supports nonprofit organizations with competitively awarded grants. Your contributions give these funds more "staying power" in the community. Pooling your gift with those of your neighbors makes your contribution go farther and increases the Foundation's ability to make a difference in the lives of Arlingtonians. A 28-member Board of Trustees -- Arlington community leaders -- oversees how the contributions are invested and awarded. The Foundation has a one percent fee which means that 99 percent of your contribution goes directly where you want it to go -- into the community. There are no secret formulas and no hidden costs. That's one of the best deals in town!
