July 19, 2010 - At its recent annual meeting, the Arlington Community Foundation (ACF) Board of Trustees announced new officers for the new fiscal year.
Jim Whittaker, was named ACF President, replacing Christine T. Milliken who served two terms as President. Other officers include Julian Fore, Vice President; Susan Duke, Secretary; and Richard B. "Randy" Anderson, Treasurer.
The officers will lead a board of ACF business and community leaders including: John P. Andelin, Chuck Bean, David A. Bell, David W. Briggs, Deborah Brink, Bradford R. Coyle, Nancy Snell Dellinger, Pauline Ellison, Leni Gonzalez, Robert H. Hawthorne, Fernanda S. Howard,
Jonathan C. Kinney, Artemis P. McDonald, Christine T. Milliken, Scott O'Gorman, Jr., Lola C. Reinsch (Pierce), Libby Ross, John G. Shooshan, Marion D. Spraggins, Keegan Stroup, Michael Timpane, and Mary Margaret Whipple.
Executive Director Wanda L. Pierce stated that "The Arlington Community Foundation is fortunate to have such a strong and talented board of trustees as the Foundation moves into a critical growth phase. " ACF recently launched the Campaign for Arlington, a multi-year capital campaign to significantly grow the Foundation's assets to better serve the Arlington community through grants, scholarships and initiatives to improve the lives of people who work and live in Arlington. The Campaign for Arlington committee is co-chaired by two ACF emeritus trustees, Steve Caruthers and Diane Smith.

The Arlington Community Foundation is an independent charitable organization that actively promotes, protects and improves the quality of life for those who live or work in Arlington. The Foundation provides philanthropic leadership and raises capital for grants and scholarships to address community needs now and in the future.
The Foundation has awarded more than 3.8 million in grants to nonprofits and schools and $1.8million in college scholarships to Arlington students over the last 15 years.
