Community Enhancement Grants - The foundation awarded competitive grants totaling $171,500 to 46 local nonprofit organizations in 2008. Grants ranged from $1,000 to $7,500 and assist towards the improvement of the Arlington community through programs in the arts, education, the environment, health, housing, human services, legal services and seniors. Arlington Community Foundation has awarded more than $3.8 million to charitable organizations over the past 15 years.
Arlington Education Fund Grants - The mission of the fund is to enhance the community by providing grants to educators and nonprofit organizations for innovative projects that supplement and enrich the learning environment for preschool to adult students in Arlington. Arlington Community Foundation granted a total of $13,000 in the Fall of 2008 and $11,000 to 12 grantees in the Spring of 2009.
Scholarship Awards - In May 2009, Arlington Community Foundation announced $292,500 in scholarship assistance for 142 students to attend college. The scholarships range from $1,000 to $10,000, many of which are renewable, allowing students to receive support throughout their undergraduate education. 2009 marks the 13th year that the Arlington Community Foundation has awarded scholarships; totaling more than $1.5 million to help over 470 Arlington students attend college.
