ACF Scholarship Renewal Process

If you have previously received an Arlington Community Foundation scholarship, you must apply online to renew the scholarship or to be considered for a Community Scholarship. Many scholarships are renewable for either three or four years.

The Community Scholarships ($1,000 each) are awarded to previous recipients of any ACF scholarship that was not renewable.   Applicants for a Community Scholarship include students currently in their freshman year of college who received a one-year scholarship as well as students who received a Community Scholarship for their sophomore or junior years. Applicants to the Community Scholarship program are considered renewal candidates, even if they are receiving a different type and amount of scholarship.

The process to renew or apply for a Community Scholarship is simple, just three steps - at the most!

  1. Apply online at http://www.applyweb.com/apply/arlingtn/ by March 7, 2008. A previous online application username and password may still be valid or you can begin again.   When applying, the last question on the first screen asks if you are applying to the Arlington Community Foundation for the first time.   Indicate No, and enter the previous ACF scholarship name.   You will then be taken to the second and last screen of the application.  Be sure have clicked "submit" by March 7, 2008.
  2. Send the ACF your college transcript.   A transcript may be emailed to scholarship@arlcf.org or mailed to 2525 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA   22201 by March 7, 2008.
  3. Send your Student Aid Report that you receive after you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).   This is required for all scholarships, except the Civic Federation 911 and one of the Macy's scholarship.   You must have evidence of financial need as determined by the FAFSA to be considered for a Community Scholarship.   Submit the Student Aid Report by March 7, 2008.

If you have any questions about the scholarship renewal process, contact scholarship@arlcf.org.
